In this case, my client’s estranged spouse filed for a Temporary Protective Order (TPO) twice during an ongoing divorce, alleging family violence. This was clearly an attempt to gain leverage in family court. Recognizing the serious consequences a TPO could have on my client’s parental rights and reputation, I immediately began preparing a detailed defense. Both cases were set for a hearing and we were prepared to present evidence of the spouse’s false assertions to the Court. Presented with that evidence, the spouse agreed to dismiss both actions and my client walked away with a dismissal and his reputation intact.

My client was accused of stalking and faced a Temporary Protective Order (TPO) that could have seriously affected her freedom and reputation. Despite challenging circumstances — including showing up to her ex’s workplace and gym several times — I successfully demonstrated to the court that the evidence did not meet the legal standard required to sustain the granting of a twelve-month Protective Order.
